My cancer fight was nearly 24/7. Below are the resources that were most helpful when I was getting started.
Dale Bronner is the founder and senior pastor of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Atlanta. Dale is an outstanding spiritual thinker, leader, and communicator. His sermons, A Time for Warriors, Parts I and II, speak directly to anyone battling cancer or any other life challenge. They provide guidance on how to apply God’s healing, protective word to your situation.
The first sermon I ever heard from Dale was Part II. It was the first time I had ever been brought to tears in church. I listened to at least one Dale Bronner sermon on YouTube per day during my fight. We now attend his church regularly. You can watch Part I here.
In 1989, Dodie Osteen was diagnosed with a severe case of metastatic liver cancer. She was very sick and doctors gave her only weeks to live. She read healing scriptures to herself every day and was fully healed without any medical treatment. 30+ years later, she is cancer-free and still reads her healing scriptures every day. She has been a tremendous source of inspiration to me.
This YouTube video is a recording of her reading her favorites. I find it very comforting. I listen to it at night when I cannot sleep.
Joel Osteen is the pastor of Lakewood Church, one of the largest churches in the United States. He has written several best-selling Christian books. This sermon outlines how God’s victories for us often begin in darkness. This darkness is not to be feared, but rather embraced, as it is often necessary to bring out the best God has in store for us.
During my fight, I watched at least one Joel Osteen sermon per day. I still watch Lakewood Church online regularly. Their Sunday services are reportedly viewed by 10 million viewers worldwide per week.
Richard is the Senior Pastor of Peachtree Church, the largest Presbyterian congregation in the United States. This sermon outlines how we can turn scary situations into victories by demonstrating our faith. It also explains the best practices for applying our faith when we are full of fear.
