The Cancer Fighter's Guide to healing in the bible

When I was initially diagnosed, Melissa and I poured over the Bible and pulled up every verse on healing we could find. I wrote over 100 verses down on note cards and put them all over my house. As I would go about my day, I would read them out loud to myself. I found this practice helped me push out the fear and keep my thought centered on God. 

I decided to take them all with me when I went to my first chemo infusion. It was comforting to sit there and read them. After a few chemo visits, I got tired of taking them down and then putting them back up in the house. So I decided to have them printed up in a booklet I could take with me. It occurred to me that I should print out extra booklets and give them out at the chemo center. 

I gave them all out on my first visit. It was clear that people were receptive to inspiration while going through a cancer fight. I had another batch of books published and gave them out. People sent me notes to thank me, and to express how much hope and comfort the Bible passages had brought them. 

Over time, we added more content to the booklet, including links to sermons we found helpful, a daily affirmation, and thoughts for caregivers from Melissa. Over the next two years, we would send out over 2,000 copies to people across the United States and overseas. Eventually, we got tired of going to the UPS Store to make shipments every few days. So, we had the book published and shipped by Amazon. We would gladly give the book away for free, but Amazon makes us charge a minimum amount to cover publishing and shipping. So that is all we charge.
